On October 7, 2012 Women Veterans Interactive will celebrate those who have made great sacrifices in their own lives in order to serve our country. The inaugural Empowerment & Unification lunch cruise affords attendees the opportunity to interact with our nation’s heroes, network with top corporate executives, enjoy great food, free makeovers and nautical views of New York City all while supporting the Women Veterans Interactive.
The purpose of Empowerment & Unification is to raise awareness, funds, and support for Women Veterans Interactive while providing the attending women veterans with peer-to-peer interaction and beneficial program information.The event also instills a stronger sense of identity among veteran attendees as they gather in solidarity and meet the faces behind their support.
Following military discharge, many women do not seek the appropriate services and support provided for them because they do not identify as veterans; thus, putting themselves at risk of homelessness and unemployment.As a network of experienced nonprofit, for-profit, and government patrons, WVI provides these women with a path to realize and achieve their aspirations after military service.
